Paddle by seakayak around Hanko peninsula
A daypaddle around Hanko peninsula (optionally two days), a highlight of the summer with family and friends. You get to see cosy fishing huts, sand beaches, flat bed granit rocks made for picknick, cosy shallow lagones with warmest water (summer) and reefs formed by rocks pushed together by sea-ice. On the route you may observe, perhaps read, notes of traders made while they came early in the spring to do business, but ice was blocking harbours. We will paddle along the shoreline mostly with easy landing possibilities. Hanko from the seaside is a different Hanko. (The two day owvernight tour will extend furter out, and camping is on an island as weathers permit).
The weather for the day will determine where we start, especially wind. Hanko has open sea in most directions, that gives a breathtaking view on calm days, and stormy days it is challenging. Adjustments will be made according to needs of the group, but initially we will meet at 10am in Kapellhamnen and paddle around the peninsula to the south side beaches. A snack break landing halfway, bring some goodies with you, and water. Instructions are given. We set at sea at 10:30. Go ashore on the southwestern tip or at Gäddtarmen (Hauensuoli), pass the outer harbor and pilots tower. We estimate a landing at Tulludden beach 01:30pm. The tour can continue a further 6 km (1,5 hours) towards café Fyra Vindarnas Hus.
The tour is guided. Kayaks, paddles, spraydecks and pfd:s can be booked together with the tour booking. Transfers are by default your own responsibility, but places are on walking distance.
